Useful Advices for Cleaning the Wall

Published on Friday, 11 January 2013

In every home there are parts that are easier to reach and are cleaned more often and those that are hard to be maintained, too small or even invisible for the people, who are cleaning.           There is as well special group of things that we see every day but we never think of them as something that have to be cleaned more often. The walls are very good example for this case. We see them every day, it even happens to leave stains on them, but we rarely think how to clean them.          As part of the house or apartment they also get dirty and dusty and there are special ways to maintain them, in order to reduce the negative influence of the dirt and bacteria that may live on them.          In the past the people were really careful and not very willing to clean the walls because they were afraid to damage the paint or the wallpaper. The modern materials and technique allow this to be done with no damage at all. There are even wallpapers that can be put in bathrooms, so this means they can be poured with water from the ceiling to the flour and they will stay in good condition.           Once we have take our heads up from the flour and the carpets and started thinking how to make the walls cleaner, there are few useful tips that will help us manage with the situation in a better way.           The most common stains that you are going to see on your walls are those from smear and soil. Though you think you will never put your dirty legs and boots on the wall, there are some members of the family that will, and these are the children. The pets can also be very active in this case. The smears will start to appear often when the children forget to wash their hands and hurry to go playing. Inevitably they will put few fingers or the whole hand on the wall and you will se this marks everyday, wondering how to remove it from there. It is easy as a piece of cake. First of all remove the big dirt with gentle brushing. Then take one simple slice of bread. You can leave the good bread and even use some of the one that is two or three days old and you are wandering what to do with it. Take only the soft middle part of the slice and use it as a natural scrub.           The grease spots can be defeated with few sheets of blotting paper and an iron. Take few of these sheets and hold them on the wall. With the other hand hold the hot iron as close to them as you can stand. Use something to protect your hands from the hot steam. You will see slowly how the paper will absorb all the grease.           The painted walls are also not that vulnerable to cleaning as they were before. The paint allows to be treated in many different ways. To remove stains from the painted wall use the good old solution made from one cup of ammonia, half a sup of vinegar, quarter  cup of baking soda and a gallon of water. Rinse the wall with a sponge but use rubber gloves for your hands in order to protect them from the damages that the ammonia can make.           The scuff marks will successfully disappear as you treat them with simple toothpaste and a brush. With less efforts you will have big positive results.           In case you have wooden parts on your walls you can use a solution of half part of turpentine and boiled linseed oil. With a soft dry cloth you should rub it on the wood as you follow the direction of the wood work.
