How to Clean a House Before Moving Out


When moving house in Mayfair, there are so many different things that can go wrong, or take up your precious time, that the end of tenancy cleaning is likely the last thing that you want to be worrying about! Essentially, you will be having to concern yourself with packing everything that you own in to boxes, getting them labelled up, and transporting them safely to another property. The fact of the matter is, this kind of thing takes ages in itself, and with all of the sorting out with paper work, transferring energy bills and the like, cleaning may have to take the back seat. Of course on many tenancy agreements it asks that you have the place professionally cleaned so that the property is ready for the next tenant to move in to, but many people feel that this is an unnecessary expense on their part, and would much prefer to get the job done themselves than to part with that kind of cash!


There are difficulties here however, as the cleaning can only really be done as the last thing that happens before you leave your place in Mayfair, W1 for good. The property needs to go through a certain set of stages before you are properly moved out; form removing all of your belongings, to fixing the place up to cover any damages or mess that your time there has caused, before cleaning and finally dropping the keys off. Both moving the furniture and the DIY element of the move will create a lot of mess, and it is for that reason that you should only clean after these steps, as otherwise you will undo all of your hard work! The fact of the matter is that this point in the move is not one where you will have a lot of time on your hands, so getting the cleaning done will be difficult, and if you can get going on it, then there will be a certain amount of time pressure. Unfortunately, most people are not as good at cleaning as professional cleaners. The experience that they have means that they are a lot quicker at the job than most, and can get a lot more done in a short space of time. You will no doubt understand that the amount of time that you take to clean an empty place will be less than one that is full of furniture, and with that in mind, how much more quickly could a professional get it done? There is no doubt that you will have a lot more done in the short time that you have with a cleaning company, and this means that it probably won’t cost you a huge amount in the long run.


One of the main considerations when it comes to deciding on who should clean the place in Mayfair will be in how the landlord is going to react to the results of the job. If they need the place to be completely clean for the next tenant, then there is no way that they are going to let you get away with not sorting the place properly. Of course if you have done the cleaning yourself, then there is little you have to defend yourself against a late decision to take money from your deposit, than if you had used a cleaning company. Should your landlord turn round after you have moved out and ask for another £100 for cleaning, then you can show them the receipt for the cleaning that you’ve had done and tell them to jog on!
